Brig. Gen. Andrew W. O'Donnell Jr., the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (Forward) commanding general, shakes hands with Cpl. Oscar Melgar, an aerial observer with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 362, 3rd MAW (Fwd), after awarding him his combat aircrew wings at the flightline aboard Camp Bastion, Afghanistan, Dec. 6. Melgar and four other HMH-362 Marines received their combat aircrew wings for flight time during a deployment. It is a prestigious distinguishing device as it is symbolic of Marine aviation's deep bond and commitment to supporting the infantry and coalition forces in Afghanistan.
