U.S. Air Force maintainers from the 380th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron wait to begin engine startup procedures on an RQ-4 Global Hawk Unmanned Aerial Vehicle before its first launch from an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia, Nov. 27, 2010. The RQ-4 carries the Battlefield Airborne Communications Node which acts as a persistent gateway, bridging diverse tactical data links and voice communications to improve battlefield communications.
