Lisa Caughman and her mother, Jane Caughman, work together to help make scrapbooking pages for “Gold Star” families during the second annual Survivor Outreach Services holiday gathering Dec. 11 at Fort Jackson, S.C. Sponsored by the Army Reserve’s 81st Regional Support Command and hosted by Maj. Gen. Bill Gerety, the event brought several dozen “Gold Star” families of deceased Soldiers from more than 200 miles to the Columbia, S.C. area for several hours to remember and celebrate those who were lost. The Caughman’s lost their son Army Reservist Spc. Thomas Caughman June 9, 2004, during combat operations in Iraq.
