    USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6)

170615-N-DL434-029 PHILIPPINE SEA (June 15, 2017) Marines, assigned to the Amphibious Recon Platoon (ARP) embarked on amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), push a combat rubber raiding craft (CRRC) from a CH-53E Super Stallion, assigned to the “Dragons” of Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 265 Reinforced, during a helo cast exercise. A helo cast exercise assesses the ability of the ARP to cast and retrieve a reconnaissance and surveillance team during small boat operations. Bonhomme Richard, flagship of the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG), is operating in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region to enhance partnerships and be a ready-response for any type of contingency.
