A U.S. Army AH-64 Apache and an Afghan National Army Mi-17 act as static displays before a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open the full length of the runway at Shindand Air Base, Afghanistan, Dec. 20. The runway is now capable of supporting aircraft as large as the C-17 Globemaster III.
