BREMERTON, Washington (July 10, 2017) Boatswain's Mate 3rd Class Bryan Diaz Padilla restows a fender inside USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74)’s hangar bay. The fender is used to create space between ships when pulling alongside one another. John C. Stennis is conducting a planned incremental availability (PIA) at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility, during which the ship is undergoing scheduled maintenance and upgrades.
