170710-N-LC424-1897 PACIFIC OCEAN (July 10, 2017) Damage Controlman 1st Class Zachary Bachman, a native of Mesa, Arizona, assigned to engineering department aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52), teaches a Midshipman how to use a Naval Firefighting Thermal Imager during a damage control exercise in the ship’s damage control office. Pearl Harbor is currently embarked on a scheduled deployment as part of the America Amphibious Ready Group, which is comprised of more than 1,800 Sailors and 2,600 Marines assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), the amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22), and Pearl Harbor.
