U.S. Marine Cpl. Varun Chethan scans a Japanese Ground Self-Defense member for chemicals during a simulated joint study with the JGSDF at Marine Corps Air Station Futenma on July 13, 2017. The events tests Marines' and JGSDF chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear response capabilities to a chemical attack on a flight line. This three day study allowed the service members the opportunity to share their capabilities and work together.
