Marines with Delta Company, 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division (Forward), place a simulated casualty into the back of a light armored reconnaissance vehicle during a mass casualty drill Jan. 19, 2011. The drill was designed to strengthen the Marines’ ability to rapidly respond to multiple casualties on or off base. The drill included buddy-carrying the casualties, Navy medics triaging the victims, and then evacuating the patient to the helicopter landing zone.
