Capt. Clinton Kappler, commanding officer of Alpha Company, 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, explains to Brig. Gen. Joseph Osterman, commanding general of 1st Marine Division (Forward), the tactical advantages of his area of operations during a battle space tour, Jan. 24. Kessler discussed how the Marines of Alpha Company had completed an operation recently to gain control of important ground in the area. Osterman thanked Kessler for his hard work and dedication and the commitment made by his Marines and sailors.
