NEW YORK (July 28, 2017) Cmdr. Jason Sticht, commanding officer of Navy Recruiting District New York, poses with his wife Kimberly after completing his change of command ceremony in One World Trade Center. Sticht was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal during the time-honored tradition of transferring command of a Navy unit from one officer to the next. The New York recruiting district was officially established in 1972 to help create an all-volunteer naval force and consists of more than 40 recruiting stations covering New York, Long Island and northern half of New Jersey.
