Maj. Gen. Robert E. Livingston, Jr., the adjutant general of the South Carolina National Guard, and Command Sgt. Maj. Russell A. Vickery, state command sergeant major, meet Command Sgt. Maj. Dan Bittel and Brig. Gen. Gheorghita Vlad at Joint National Training Center, Cincu, Romania. Livingston and Vickery were in Cincu to visit South Carolina Army National Guard Soldiers deployed for Operation Resolute Castle 17. Resolute Castle is an exercise employing the South Carolina Army National Guard, U.S. Army Reserve, Navy Seabees, U.K. Royal Engineers, and Romanian Land Forces to build relationships with the NATO alliance and enhance its capacity for joint training and response to threats within the region.
