U.S. Army Reserve Staff Sgt. Tiesha L. Houke, a horizontal construction engineer supervisor, assigned to the 317th Engineer Construction Company, 863rd Engineer Battalion, 416th Theater Engineer Command, from Homewood, Ill., performs survey work ensuring the road elevation, cuts, and fills meet standards on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation near Browning, Mont, on July 30, 2017. Houke’s full-time job is a transportation security officer for the Department of Homeland Security for Midway Airport in Chicago, Ill. The 317th ECC is conducting their annual training at the Blackfeet Reservation to construct roads for the local population as part of the Innovative Readiness Training program, which bridges the gap between essential military training and the needs of civil society.
