They received certificates of appreciation for helping a mother deliver her baby and arrive safely at the U.S. Naval Hospital Okinawa aboard Camp Foster. The men worked together, rushing to a distressed woman’s aid July 16, to help her safely deliver her baby and transport the family to the USNH. Matsumoto and Yamashiro are firefighters at the Marine Corps Installations Pacific Fire Department aboard Camp Courtney. McCoy, a New Brunswick, New Jersey, native, is an emergency medical technician at the Marine Corps Installations Pacific Fire Department aboard Camp Courtney, and a corpsman in the emergency medical department at the USNH.
