NORFOLK (Aug. 4, 2017)— Cmdr. Michael Johnston, a student of the Navy’s first Role 2 Light Maneuver (R2LM) course, tours the 9/11 memorial room during a familiarization tour aboard amphibious transport dock ship USS Arlington (LPD 24). The objective of the pilot course, being held at Surface Warfare Medical Institute (SWMI) East, a detachment of Navy Medicine Operational Training Center (NMOTC), is to build a mobile unit equipped to set up a functioning medical area with advanced trauma life support capabilities.
