NORFOLK (Aug. 7, 2017)— Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Kevin Munro, left, and Lt. Cmdr. Patrick Magajna, students of the Navy’s first Role 2 Light Maneuver (R2LM) course, load gear onto guided-missile destroyer USS Bulkeley (DDG 84) in preparation for a ship-board combat surgery training exercise. The objective of the pilot course, being held at Surface Warfare Medical Institute (SWMI) East, a detachment of Navy Medicine Operational Training Center (NMOTC), is to build a mobile unit equipped to set up a functioning medical area with advanced trauma life support capabilities.
