Spc. Nyan Prater, a preventive medicine specialist assigned to Company C, 27th Brigade Support Battalion, 4th Advise and Assist Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, and a native of San Diego, prepares to test a water sample at the battalion’s troop medical clinic on Contingency Operating Site Marez, Feb. 12. Prater has been on more than 50 patrols in the last four month to ensure soldiers and Iraqi security forces stay healthy while deployed in support of Operation New Dawn.
