Sgt. 1st Class Evan Hess, a Mount Pleasant, Texas native who is a shooter/instructor with the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit’s Service Rifle Team, congratulates and briefs the Soldiers on the Service Rifle Team after competing in the final team match at the Interservice Championships in Quantico, Virginia. The championships, which were hosted by the U.S. Marine Corps’ Weapons Training Battalion from July 26 to Aug. 2, 2017, foster competition and information sharing among Department of Defense armed services. The team Hess coached won the prestigious 10-Man Interservice Rifle Team Championship title, setting a new interservice record of 4942-231X along the way. They bested the old record, which was set by another USAMU team in 1999, by nine shots. (U.S. Army photo by Michelle Lunato/released)
