A drill instructor from Charlie Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, instructs a recruit to move faster during the Bayonet Assault Course at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Aug. 8. Drill instructors were stationed at each obstacle to ensure the recruits completed them correctly. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Charlie Company is scheduled to graduate Sept. 1.
