Petrera, Commander, 254th Regiment (Combat Arms), New Jersey Army National Guard, addresses the audience during the ribbon cutting ceremony for the New Jersey Army National Guard Regional Training Institute at the National Guard Training Center in Sea Girt, N.J., Aug. 17, 2017. The Institute provides the 254th with a modern, state-of-the-art, instructional complex where National Guard Soldiers from all 54-states and territories, the Army Reserves, and Active Duty Army can receive training in career management fields including the Non-Commissioned Officer Education System, Military Occupational Specialty Training, and Officer Candidate School. The $32-million, 86,000 square-foot facility, includes an administration and classroom building with 11 classrooms, a library, a 225-seat auditorium, and a student billeting building ensuring year-round training.
