Members of the Iowa National Guard’s 34th Army Band based in Fairfield, Iowa march in the Veterans Parade at the Iowa State Fair on August 14, 2017 in Des Moines. The 34th Army Band performs in the annual parade each summer, playing a mix of traditional patriotic tunes. The marching band is comprised of smaller performance groups, called Music Performance Teams (MPTs), which often perform concerts throughout the 10-day fair. These MPTs are known for their renditions of popular rock, pop and country songs, complete with choreography and vocals. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Staff Sgt. Christie R. Smith)
