DUTCH HARBOR, Alaska (Aug. 24, 2017) Tugs from Dutch Harbor, Alaska, transport supplies and personnel to the Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine USS Kentucky (SSBN 737). Kentucky is one of eight ballistic-missile submarines stationed at Naval Base Kitsap. SSBNs are the most survivable assets of the Triad, providing a sea-based missile launch capability and survivability that stabilizes deterrent relationships and renders surprise attacks inconceivable.
