Dr. Nicolette Parr, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) anthropologist, and U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Austin Sinclair, explosive ordnance disposal technician and DPAA augmentee, investigate a hit from the metal detector, Aug. 12, 2017, looking for a piece of rebar put in the ground by the last excavation team on site in the Quang Tri Province, Vietnam. DPAA deployed to the area in hopes of recovering remains of men lost in a CH-46 Sea Knight helicopter crash in June of 1967. The mission of DPAA is to provide the fullest possible accounting for our missing personnel to their families and the nation. (U.S. Air Force photo by TSgt Jocelyn A. Ford)
