Command. Sgt. Maj. Brant Shyrigh, outgoing command sergeant major of 71st Ordnance Group (EOD), passes the unit’s colors to Col. Frank Davis II, commander of 71st OD GP, during a dual-purposed ceremony Sept. 6, 2017 at Founders Field on Fort Carson, Colo. The first part of the ceremony was to officially uncase the unit's colors. Uncasing the colors signifies that the unit has fully reintegrated back into its home station after a nine-month deployment to Kuwait in support of Task Force Atlas. The second part of the ceremony was a change of responsibility to recognize Command Sgt. Maj. Weston West as the new command sergeant major of 71st OD GP. West replaced Command Sgt. Maj. Brant Shyrigh, who served with Davis throughout the unit’s deployment. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt. Lance Pounds, 71st Ordnance Group (EOD), Public Affairs)
