CAMP FOSTER, OKINAWA, Japan— Lt. Col. Nicholas L. Gannon answers questions inside of the courtroom during a briefing session Aug. 31 aboard Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan. In efforts to expand legal academics knowledge on the differences in Uniformed Codes of Military Justice and Japanese law, three Marine subject matter experts held an hour long period of instruction with three professors and eight students from the University of the Ryukyus. A large portion of the brief was spent in the courtroom asking questions about the military justice system.
