A member of the 1st Special Operations Wing marshals in a MC-130P Combat Shadow from the California Air National Guard at Hurlburt Field, Florida, Sept. 8, 2017. The Alaska and California Air National Guard traveled to Hurlburt Field to set up a Personnel Recovery Task Force in preparation for Hurricane Irma's landfall along the Florida coast. As the largest reserve force in the Department of Defense, the National Guard has the capacity to simultaneously mitigate disaster in our local communities, and secure our national interests abroad.
