POINT LOOKOUT, New York (Sept. 11, 2017) Sailors alongside members of the FDNY saluting the American flag as it is lowered to half staff during the unveiling ceremony for the September 11th Memorial at the beach in Point Lookout. Sailors from Navy Recruiting District New York and Navy Operational Support Center Long Island took part in the unveiling of the memorial, which includes a steel beam from the World Trade Center, plaques with the names of the victims, an elevated walkway and additional plaques with the names of first responders who have passed away from illnesses related to recovery efforts at ground zero.
