Chaplain Maj. Chan-young Ham, the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center command chaplain, opens the induction ceremony for St. Jerome at the Presidio of Monterey, California, Chapel Sept. 11. During a humble ceremony, St. Jerome became inducted as the patron saint of DLI and of military linguists. Linguists now join with other military career fields who have followed in this tradition.
