Chaplain Maj. Chan-young Ham, the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center command chaplain, gives St. Jerome pendants to service members and civilians following an induction ceremony for St. Jerome at the Presidio Chapel Sept. 11. St. Jerome became inducted as the patron saint of DLI and of military linguists. Linguists now join with other military career fields who have followed in this tradition.
