U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Sept. 13, 2017) - Personnel Specialist 3rd Class Josephine Fabia, a San Diego native, assigned to the executive department aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), operates a fire hose during hose team training in the ship’s hangar bay. America is the flagship for the America Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
