Georgia Governor Nathan Deal will appoint Col. Randall Simmons to serve as the Georgia National Guard’s Assistant Adjutant General-Army following the appointment of Brig. Gen Tom Carden as the new deputy commander of NATO’s Multi-National Division, Southeast, headquartered in Bucharest, Romania. Simmons has served as the Chief of Staff for the Georgia Army National Guard since 2015. He previously served as commander of the Macon-based 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team and led the brigade during its 2013-2014 deployment to Afghanistan.
