U.S. Navy Sailors assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) unwind ropes to release a landing craft, utility exiting the well deck of the ship in the Caribbean Sea, Sept. 26, 2017. The 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit is supporting Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the lead federal agency, in helping those affected by Hurricane Maria to minimize suffering and is one component of the overall whole-of-government response effort.
