Jimmy Capps, U.S Department of Agriculture wildlife biologist, radios Bagram ground control to cross the runway at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, Sept. 8 , 2017. Capps patrols the airfield multiple times each day to reduce the presence of bird and animal strike hazards. He uses various tools to scare or physically remove animals from the runway, helping to ensure the safety of arriving and departing aircraft.
