Capt. Derek Derkacs explains to members of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces how to splint a fracture on Sept. 12 in Kampong Speu, Cambodia. Derkacs is physician assistant for both the Boise Veterans Affairs Medical Center and the Idaho Army National Guard’s 183d Aviation Battalion (Attack). He traveled to Cambodia in order to train Cambodian soldiers on life-saving skills as part of the National Guard’s State Partnership Program.
