Visitors look at the McDonald Ranch House, located about two miles from the Trinity Site’s ground zero, during an open house at White Sands Missile Range, N.M., Oct. 7, 2017. Scientists assembled parts of the bomb in the ranch house. Although the bomb’s explosion blew out most of the house’s windows, it was otherwise left intact.
