Marines and Sailors of the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit Arrived in Puerto Rico Oct. 15, 2017. USS KEARSARGE (LHD 3) welcomed the 24th MEU on board to transport MEU personnel to areas of need in Puerto Rico. The 24th MEU is assisting the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in partnership with civil authorities, with the unique capabilities that the Department of Defense can bring to the island following the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria.
