Warrant Officer 1 Robert L. Fletcher, of Terrell, Texas, and Chief Warrant Officer 2 Xlenske Sampson, of Austin, Texas, both operations officers with the 36th Infantry Division deployed to Iraq for Operation New Dawn, cover up to brave the sand-filled air over Contingency Operating Base Basra, April 13. The sand was carried by winds gusting up to forty knots, or approximately 46 mph. The weather condition lasted throughout the day before finally calming down late in the evening, keeping U.S. Division-South soldiers and personnel indoors as much as possible for the duration.
