Brig. Gen. Peter S. Lennon, commander, 316th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, attaches a streamer to the unit flag of the 305th Military History Detachment in recognition of the Meritorious Unit Citation during Family Day here Dec. 18. Family Day was a combination holiday celebration and awards presentation for Soldiers of the 316th ESC. The 305th MHD is a subordinate unit of the 316th ESC which has deployed to multiple combat zones. The 305th MHD also received the Reserve Officer Association Outstanding U.S. Army Reserve Small Unit Award to recognize for their outstanding service throughout the years. The unit is also recognized for their deployment to Afghanistan in 2006-2008 for producing the first historical documentation of Operation Enduring Freedom. In 2009 and 2010 the 305th MHD was asked by the White House Historical Association to produce historical documents about the White House Transportation Agency.
