The 305th Military History Detachment is presented with the Meritorious Unit Citation and Reserve Officer Association Outstanding U.S. Army Reserve Small Unit Award during Family Day here Dec. 18. The 305th MHD is a subordinate unit of the 316th ESC which has deployed to multiple combat zones. The 305th MHD also received the Reserve Officer Association Outstanding U.S. Army Reserve Small Unit Award to recognize for their outstanding service throughout the years. The unit is also recognized for their deployment to Afghanistan from 2006 thru 2008 for producing the first historical documentation of Operation Enduring Freedom. In 2009 and 2010 the 305th MHD was asked by the White House history association to produce historical documents about the White House Transportation Agency. Military history detachments are small units within the Army Reserve, typically consisting of less than five personnel.
