Air Force Staff Sgt. Thomas Patterson, 123rd Explosive Ordnance Disposal Flight, Kentucky Air National Guard, and Air Force Staff Sgt. Chris Cunningham, 151st Explosive Ordnance Disposal Flight, Utah National Guard, discuss the settings on a Minehound Oct. 29, 2017, at Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center, Miss. The Minehound is a dual-sensor metal detector that can detect metal and metal-free devices. Receiving this training here at Camp Shelby is helpful because they aren't always able to do them at home station, said Patterson. The Guardsmen completed EOD training during Southern Strike 2018. Camp Shelby is the perfect partner in hosting Southern Strike with a location 40 miles north of Gulfport's Combat Readiness Training Center - Battlefield Airmen Center, which hosts the exercise.
