Sgt. Charles Fricker, a percussionist with the 36th Infantry Division Band and a 39-year-old native of Philadelphia, practices his beats for his role as the drummer in the rock band. The 14-year veteran of the Army Reserve and National Guard was one of 12 recipients of the first Col. Finley R. Hamilton Military Outstanding Musician Award, which acknowledges enlisted musicians from each branch of service in the U.S. Military Forces who show exceptional qualities in military leadership and music.
