Historical LT-6G aircraft over South Korea

A U.S. Air Force LT-6G aircraft flies in the demilitarized zone over South Korea in the fall of 1953. The North American Aviation T-6 Texan was modified during the Korean War for battlefield surveillance and forward air control, and designated as T-6 "Mosquitos." The photo was taken by U.S. Air Force pilot Alexander P. Macdonald. He later became the North Dakota Air National Guard's 119th Fighter Group commander Feb. 28, 1968. He was promoted to brigadier general Dec. 14, 1981 and major general in June, 2983. He was appointed as the North Dakota adjutant general in August, 1984.
