171205-N-GR361-016 SAN DIEGO (Dec. 5, 2017) Fire Controlman 1st Class Alma Barajas and Chief Operations Specialist Jose Zavala prepare to raise the ensign as the littoral combat ship USS Coronado (LCS 4) returns to homeport following an 18-month deployment. The first Independence-variant littoral combat ship to deploy, Coronado operated in Southeast Asia for 14 months and worked with 16 navies, participated in 11 exercises, made 10 strategic port visits and successfully fired a Harpoon surface-to-surface missile, striking a target beyond visual range.
