SAN DIEGO (Dec. 8, 2017) Vice Adm. John D. Alexander, Commander, U.S. 3rd Fleet (left), Rear Adm. Cathal S. O’Connor, off-going commander of Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG) 3 (right), and Rear Adm. Cedric E. Pringle, Commander, ESG-3, cut a cake during the ESG-3 change of command ceremony held onboard amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2).
