Master EOD technician, U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer Justin Berlien (left-middle), assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit Eleven, Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa, observes Namibia Defense Forces EOD and Namibian National Police personnel during the practical application of demolition initiation procedures, April 26, in Namibia. Navy EOD technicians and the NDF engaged in a joint training seminar to enhance their understanding of safely handling and disposing of unexploded ordnance. EODMU-11 is partnering with the Namibian Defense Forces EOD and Police Explosive Control Unit to support the Humanitarian Mine Action program by providing familiarization with International Mine Action Standards. These standards were created by the U.S. government in 2001 to help safeguard the populations of United Nation countries.
