A mosquito seen through a microscope. The sailors at the Public Health and Preventive Medicine Detachment, Alpha Surgical Company, 2nd Marine Logistics Group (Forward) set mosquito traps at the end of every day in strategic places throughout Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan. Twelve hours later, the crew brings the captured mosquitoes in to identify them and collect data for future reference in order to prevent further reproduction and infection effecting troops supporting International Security Assistance Force operations.
