A mosquito larva seen through the microscope. The sailors at the Public Health and Preventive Medicine Detachment, Alpha Surgical Company, 2nd Marine Logistics Group (Forward) set mosquito traps at the end of every day in strategic places throughout Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan. Twelve hours later, the crew brings the captured mosquitoes in to identify the species and collect data for future reference in order to prevent reproduction and infection effecting to troops supporting International Security Assistance Force operations.
