Andrea Ederle, Maj. Carlo Ederle’s nephew and the president of the Maj. Carlo Ederle Foundation, addresses attendees of a ceremony commemorating the centenary of Major Ederle’s death, held at Caserma Ederle in Vicenza, Italy, Jan. 26, 2018. Participants and guests included Federico Formisano, the Vicenza City Council president; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8862 members; Italian artillery associations of Padova, Vicenza and Verona members; and other guests of U.S. and Italian armies. Major Ederle, a soldier in the Italian army during World War I, was killed Dec. 4, 1917. Caserma Ederle was named in his honor. (U.S. Army photo by Paolo Bovo)
