180202-N-FR671-0019 SAN DIEGO (Feb. 2, 2018) -- The amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) transits the San Diego Bay as the ship returns to its homeport from its maiden deployment. America, part of the America Amphibious Ready Group, with embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is returning from a regularly scheduled deployment to the Western Pacific and Middle East.
