MAYAGÜEZ, Puerto Rico, January 19, 2018 - This home lost its footing and was severely damaged as a result of coastal erosion and storm surge caused by Hurricane María. New flood hazard areas have been identified in Puerto Rico, and the information has been used to generate Advisory Maps, to better understand flood risk. It will serve as a tool for National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) Communities to provide survivors with access to a range of flood hazard products to prevent flood damages. FEMA/Yuisa Ríos
